The BMW M135i is a car that we have spent a significant amount of time lusting after this forbidden fruit, but here's one big strike mark against it. Like the new M5, the exhaust note is totally fake. Rather than making a car that sounds good, BMW simply chose to play a good engine sound over the speakers.
A BimmerPost user disconnected the engine sound "feature" in his car and posted these two videos. Above is the fake one, and below is what the car sounds like in reality.
